Intermediate Accountant Job Description


Position Summary

To assist the Senior Accountants and Team Leaders with accounting services for a range of clients.


Key Responsibilities

  • Client relationship management
  • Primary contact for your clients.
  • Communicate proactivley with clients to understand their needs.
  • Articulate the value of our services outside of annual accounting preparation to clients.
  • Monitor scope of work and fees.
  • Monitor level of services to ensure it meets clients' expectations.


  • Annual accounting and compliance
  • Prepare interim and end of year financial statements for review.
  • Prepare tax and other compliance returns.
  • Monitor tax payments.
  • Prepare payroll and payroll tax returns for clients.
  • Prepare Company and Trust statutory compliance documents as required.
  • Code and monitor cashbooks for clients.
  • Provide support for management accounting.
  • Assist with preparation of cashflow forecasts, letters and business plans.
  • Prepare letters, correspondence, reports and other documents as required.


  • Service and business development
  • Identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Ask for referrals.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Develop external networks and referral relationships.

 


Qualifications, Experience, and Competencies

  • Qualifications and experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of Public Practice experience.
  • CA/CPA Certification or intending to complete.
  • Proven experience with Xero/MYOB/QuickBooks.

Hours of Work

37.5 hours per week being flexible from Monday to Friday.
